MIKE LYNCH CONTINUES NO49 BUS FIGHT

Mike Lynch is continuing to campaign for improvements to local bus services.

Operator Stagecoach refused to consider the return of the No 49 and instead Mike is pressing for the No 71 to be re-routed.

Mike wants the bus to use Ponteland Road/Newburn Road, via Coach Road and Hallow Drive, and then back to Newburn Village.

Mike says: "I am continuing to fight for a direct service from Throckley and Newburn to West Denton Way to link up with other local services and connections to hospitals."

Plans to demolish Segpool House in Walbottle have been rejected by the council's Development Control Committee after a campaign by Mike and the Newburn Lib Dem Team.

Meanwhile, six grit bins have been installed across Newburn Ward.
