Students from All Saints College have launched a poster campaign to tackle underage drinking locally.
The posters are going on display in local businesses, schools and community centres to remind youngsters that Denton is an alcohol free ward.
The Westerhope Park Fitness Trail is to go ahead after Friends of Westerhope Park were awarded grants of £20,000.
SITA gave the project £15,000 while another £5,391 came from the council's Udecide project.
Udecide, which allows local people to choose how money is spent in their community, also granted £5,351 to the 'C, D and E' roads for play equipment.
The ward committee is to Install no dog fouling signs in Eshott Close and Earsdon Close, while several grit bins will be put in across the ward, including Crigdon Hill.
The committee is also spending £8,000 to replace the fencing at Westerhope Bowling Club on West Avenue, while Udecide is contributing £4,000 on metal shutters for the club house.
Westerhope Park will be revamped after the council won a £700,000 Lottery grant.
New litter bins are to be installed on West Denton Way - at the bus stop near the social club - and on Aydon Walk.
On West Denton Way the barriers in the subway are to be replaced and a 'Welcome to West Denton' sign has been installed.
Also a barrier to stop motorbikes getting on the WDA field is to installed on Middlegate.
Westerhope Park is to be refurbished after the city council won a £700,000 grant from the National Lottery.
Meanwhile grit bins are to be installed at Milecastle Court and on Beltingham.
Around 10,000 bulbs are being planted across the ward in time for Spring.
Litter bins are being installed at the bus stop on Hillhead Parkway, near to Ainsdale Gardens, and on Frenton Close.
A handrail has been installed on the steep incline near to the subway on Barbondale Lonnen.
On Brookfield Crescent the tarmac near to Nos 51 to 59 is to be replaced soon.
A grit bin has been installed on Byron Court by the council to help keep pavements free from ice in the winter.
Around 10,000 bulbs are being planted across the ward in time for Spring.
