BACKING BETTER BUSES

The Lib Dems are continuing to call for improvements to the local bus network.
The North Heaton team has lobbied Stagecoach and the new Integrated Transport Authority to investigate the feasibility of increasing the frequency of the No 3 service and restoring the 49 service which were axed despite providing an important north-south route between Gosforth, Heaton, and Walker, linking the Freeman and Walkergate Hospitals.
However, whilst we support better & faster bus services generally, we are concerned that Labour's proposals could see a number of bus stops in South Heaton on the No 1 route axed.
