Green Flags Flying High

Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesman for Newcastle East Greg Stone has welcomed the announcement that four of Newcastle East's parks have been awarded the Green Flag for high standards of attractiveness, safety, and user facilities.
Paddy Freemans Park, Heaton Park, Brandling Park and Walker Park all qualified for the honour along with six others across the city.
Greg said "This is a record number of Green Flags for the city and shows that good work is being done by the city council and partners to make sure that our parks and green spaces are well maintained and popular. I am sure that the ongoing Lottery funded improvement programme for the Ouseburn parks and Jesmond Dene will enhance them even further. As a Friend of Paddy Freemans Park I am particularly delighted to see 'Paddy's' on the list!"
