January 8, 2010 4:22 PM

Hundreds of thousands of pounds has been invested in Woolsington Ward by Your Homes Newcastle.

The company, which manages the city council's housing stock, has been building new bungalows on the Newbiggin Hall estate.

YHN has also been carrying a programme of external and internal improvements to bring many properties up to the Government's "Decent Homes Standard".

James Kenyon said: "In addition, YHN has carried out environmental improvements, such as replacing the metal railings on West Thorp or the old fencing at Buxton Green. Residents have said they are pleased with the standard of work."
