Police launch mini-moto crackdown

Police have seized a mini-moto bike and a scooter in Lemington and destroyed them.

Officers launched the crackdown following complaints from residents in Lemington Village about them being ridden erratically.

A yellow Honda moped was seized on Hadrian's Trail while a mini-moto was confiscated on Percy Street.

Police said that reports of

disorder concerning mini-motos and scooters in Lemington has fallen as a result.

Councillor Liz Langfield says: "I live in Lemington Village so I have heard these vehicles being ridden very noisily late at night.

"I am pleased that the police have seized these vehicles and cut them up.

"It sends out a powerful message to other riders that they must act responsibly or face action."
