:: Work carried out on three bridges

Work is being carried out on several local Metro bridges across the ward.

Moorfield Bridge remains closed while Nexus carries out maintenance. Stoneyhurst Road bridge will be next. Nexus is working with local councillors to keep disruption to a minimum.

:: Three year plan for highways investment

Local ward councillors are drawing up plans for highways investment in the ward for the next three years.

The priority is safe routes to and from local schools and the second is improving the footpath along the back of Rothwell Road.

:: New trees planted across East Gosforth

New trees have been planted across the ward, including Great North Road, Ilford Road, Albury Road and in Garden Village.

Councillor David Slesenger says: "Tree planting is continuing across the ward and if any resident has a suggestion to where new trees could be planted, please get in touch."
