5.25.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 26th May 2009

The amount of all household waste in Brunton Park and Melbury that is recycled has risen to 41% following the recent pilot scheme.

Councillor John Shipley explains: "The pilot has enabled the council to understand better what advice residents need across the city on materials that can be recycled.

"In particular, we are delivering a leaflet on what plastics can be recycled to all households in the ward."
