Lib Dem spokesman for Newcastle East Greg Stone has welcomed plans for a Groundwork Trust project to clean up the lake at Paddy Freemans Park, in conjunction with the city council. The scheme will improve the local environment and provide work for trainees.

Greg is a Friend of Paddy Freemans Park, which recently was re-awarded Green Flag status, and is looking forward to further improvements through the city council's Ouseburn Park Lottery project which will see major transformation of the Jesmond Dene area, including a new visitor centre and refurbishment of Pets Corner.
