Around Newcastle East7.02.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 27th Sep 2009 Greg has spent an enjoyable weekend supporting local community activities. First, Greg attended the 110th anniversary celebrations and flower festival at St Gabriels Church, Heaton - and had an interesting conversation with a visitor from Queensland who was a big fan of Lib Dem MP Alan Beith! Today, Greg visited Jesmond Dene to take part in a 10:10 campaign photo op with local families, then visited the Newcastle Mela at Exhibition Park. Finally Greg campaigned in Byker Old Town - getting the chance to see Newcastle East End Juniors FC in action in a fine 6-2 win.
