WE NEED MORE BUSES, SAY LIB DEMS

10.20.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 19th Oct 2009

Denton's Liberal Democrat councillors are demanding improved bus services locally - especially for residents trying to get to the new shopping centre.

Councillor Graham Middleton said: "We need more buses in Denton Ward.

"People who live down the hill from the new shopping centre, and who can't walk there, can't get to it. That's just daft. What we need is for the bus companies to provide small buses for local residents.

"The councillors are going speak to the bus companies to put on some buses so that residents from other parts of the Outer West can get here as well.

"This new centre is great for people with cars, but what about those who don't have them? They've got to be able to get here as well."
