Greg welcomes new clubhouse for Heaton Hawks

11.05.00am GMT Tue 27th Oct 2009

Newcastle East Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman Greg Stone has welcomed news that the planning application has been submitted for a new pavilion on the Manor Park playing fields off Benton Road. The new pavilion will provide a clubhouse and changing facilities for Heaton Hawks junior football club.

Greg said "I am delighted that this facility is going ahead as it will help to support participation in sporting activities by young people in this part of Newcastle East. I'm aware that there have been some difficulties in the past over parking caused on matchdays on the new estate on the old Manor Park school site, but hope that the new facility's parking provision will help to solve this problem".
