Update - 404 Chillingham Road served with enforcement notice

4.20.00pm GMT Mon 7th Dec 2009

Following concern from local residents and councillors, the Solomons "private members dining club" at 404 Chillingham Road has this weekend been served with a planning enforcement notice regarding change of use from a social club to a restaurant. Further legal steps are anticipated.

North Heaton Lib Dem councillor Greg Stone commented "We understand that as no alcohol is being sold on the premises, no license is required, but fundamental concerns about the planning status of the premises still persist and we are asking the city council's enforcement team to investigate further"
