HIGH STREET DEVELOPMENTS

4.11.00am GMT Mon 4th Jan 2010

East Gosforth councillors have welcomed the developments on the High Street.

The opening of the Co-operative Store in the old Woolworths building provides a further option for shoppers and it is good to see the former Northern Lights Pub reopening with its more familiar name Queen Victoria.

Councillor Mike Cookson said: "The councillors will continue to keep a close watch on the sale of alcohol and opening hours to ensure that everyone can benefit from these developments."
