Newburn Church's graveyard is to be given a spring clean, thanks to Newburn Liberal Democrats.

The church is re-opening in March after a massive refurbishment following last year's fire. In recent years the graveyard has become overgrown and will be cleaned up.

Coun Mike Lynch asked the council to cut back overgrown trees and shrubs and do a general tidy before the church re-opens.

Mike says: "I am pleased this work is being done. Newburn Church is a wonderful piece of local heritage and deserves to be in the best condition."
