The Liberal Democrats are demanding to know how many homes the Ministry of Defence owns in Pallinsburn Court.

The Lib Dems asked the MoD this question after being contacted by residents.

Newcastle North campaigner Ron Beadle says: "Empty homes attract anti-social behaviour.

"Residents are rightly concerned about the number of empty homes and want to know how many are owned by the MoD.

"I also want to find out what they are doing to prevent these homes from becoming targets for yobs.

"Residents will be very interested to hear their reply."

Focus Editor James Kenyon is demanding improved security - like installing a gate to prevent access to the rear of the properties.
