A new programme of council housing will be built in Newcastle, including on Trevelyan Drive.

The new homes are among the first to be built by the council in over 20 years - and some will be made available for affordable housing.

Focus Editor James Kenyon says: "This is good news for local residents. Under Labour there were no new council houses built in the city for more than 20 years.

"We now have new council bungalows on Trevelyan Drive and the promise of more council housing for elderly people and young families."

Details of the new houses, which are planned at the back of 174 to 186 Trevelyan Drive, are being drawn up by Your Homes Newcastle.
