The council is to erect fencing along both sides of Kingston Park Road to stop indiscriminate parking and protect the verges when football matches are on.

Councillor David Down says: "Some drivers even park on the verges when there are free spaces in the car park.

"The council is in discussion with the two junior football club leagues in the city to get them to align their fixtures better so that Kingston Park Road fields don't have all their teams playing at home at the same time.

"We are considering what might be done to deal with similar pressures on Broadway West."
