Greg backs Give and Take Day in High Heaton

November 16, 2009 3:37 PM

Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman Greg Stone is supporting High Heaton's first Give and Take Day which will be held at the St Georges URC on Newton Road this Saturday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm.

The idea is that people bring along items they no longer want or use, and exchange them for other people's items. These can include clothes, furniture, and other household objects. The event is supported by the local Groundwork Trust.

Greg said "The idea is to show that what one person might throw away might be just what someone else wants. It all helps to promote recycling and reduce waste, and should be an enjoyable afternoon. I shall be bringing a sack full of clothes to give and hope to take home a few items too!"
