Greg welcomes new homes on Napier House site

December 8, 2009 3:52 PM

Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman for Newcastle East Greg Stone has welcomed news that Leazes Homes, the partnership between Newcastle City Council and Your Homes Newcastle, is set to build up to 15 new council homes on the site of the former Napier House in Shieldfield.

Greg Stone said "I am very pleased that new homes will be built on this site in the near future and want to see even more built in Newcastle East on suitable brownfield sites. There is a need for suitable homes for older people in this area and I believe new purpose built homes will help to meet this need in a way which provides more long-term independence than a facility like Napier House provided. I look forward to many more homes like these being built, along with new affordable homes to buy at sites like the Stack on Walker Road, and the Wyedale development on the Fossway"
