Although the bad weather delayed the planned work in North Kenton Park, trees have now been cut back and the space opened up ahead of the installation of new play equipment.

"Local residents have put in a lot of work shaping the plans and are to be congratulated," said Councillor Brenda Hindmarsh.

"There's much more to be done. However, slowly but surely the park is being restored as a safe place for all the community."

The work will be completed in the spring.
