A celebration has been held to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Gosforth Community Minibus.

The event was held at the Gosforth Customer Service Centre and was well attended.

The minibus was set up to provide a service for Gosforth residents particularly the elderly and people with disabilities.

Councillor Diane Packham, who set up the minibus with a small group of Gosforth residents, said it had been used most days for the last 20 years.

"The continued success of the minibus is entirely due to the sense of responsibility and commitment of the Gosforth community," she said.
