Newcastle Labour's left wing have split their party, ambushing and deselecting their own leader. All of their promises are now worth nothing. Their new leader will start from a position of turmoil. The only councillors who are focused on the future of our city are the official opposition, the Liberal Democrats.

Liberal Democrats are the official opposition group on Newcastle City Council, the only organised opposition. Our 20 councillors work together to improve the way our city is run. We cannot bring about the necessary change overnight. But we can promise to work to mitigate, and eventually remove, the Newcastle Labour administration from control of the council
