Kensington Avenue traffic calming

Kensington Avenue incident 4/21We, residents of Kensington Avenue NE3 and surrounding areas, are concerned about speeding cars and other vehicles in this road, including people "rat running" to avoid the Great North Road and Westbourne Avenue. Our concerns have been confirmed by a recent incident attended by 2 police cars, an ambulance and the Fire Service. We fear particularly for the safety of children in what is supposed to be a 20mph residential area, as well as the pollution from excess acceleration. We therefore request Newcastle City Council to install traffic calming measures as a matter of urgency.
