£40,000 for Gosforth Garden Village Association

9 Oct 2011

A hearty congratulations goes to the Gosforth Garden Village Association on winning the award of over £40,000 to contribute towards them building a new association hut.

The old hut has needed replacing for a while now and the committee set about securing funds from a number of sources, such as raffles and fundraising events.

The central plank of funding was to apply for money from the Biffa Fund. Thanks to tireless work by the GGVA committee members they won the grant from Biffa.

Councillor David Slesenger said, "This is marvellous news for the whole Garden Village community and I would like to pay tribute to the hard work of the highly dedicated management committee. We look forward to seeing further applications from the GGVA for Ward committee funds."
