BOOKIES RECKON IT'S A TWO HORSE RACE

5 Oct 2009

The Lib Dem campaign in Newcastle North has been boosted by the bookmakers by being quoted odds of 7/4 to pull off victory in the constituency in the forthcoming General Election.

By contrast, the Conservatives are quoted as 100/1 outsiders in the seat by Ladbrokes - conclusively demonstrating that their runner is a rank outsider with little realistic chance of success.

These odds confirm that it is the Lib Dems and not the Tories are the only credible challengers to Labour in Newcastle North.

The bookies clearly think Ron Beadle and the Liberal Democrats have a much greater chance of winning.
