CREDIT CRUNCH HALTS HOUSING SCHEME

14 Oct 2008

The construction of new homes in the Slatyford area has stalled because of the credit crunch.

Developers wanted to build on land at the corner of Birchvale Avenue and Greentree Square.

The housing development would have been mixed - meaning some homes would have been for sale and others for rent.

However, because of the current financial climate the developers have pulled out.

Councillor Colin Daglish says: "It is disappointing this scheme has stalled but we are looking at other options. We will keep you informed of developments."
