Denton Park development to begin this summer

Denton councillors Graham Middleton, Sharon Middleton and Newcastle North spokesman Ron Beadle at Denton Park shopping centre. The redevelopment is due to start soon.

The redevelopment of Denton Park shopping centre is expected to start this summer.

Council officers are working closely with Morrisons to ensure the £20 million scheme on West Denton Way begins on time.

The Morrisons store will be around the same size as its outlet on Shields Road in Byker.

There will also be other shops, car parking and a health centre. Security measures are planned with CCTV being installed to cover the shopping centre.
