HEALTH BOSSES REFUSE TO GUARANTEE NEW SURGERY

12 Jan 2008

Health bosses are refusing to guarantee there will be a new surgery in Lemington.

The Newcastle Primary Care Trust has said it has had discussions with an existing medical practice about the "feasibility of offering GP services from Lemington".

Liz Langfield says: "The PCT seems to accept there is a need but until it comes up with a plan, we will continue the campaign."

Newcastle North Campaigner Ron Beadle says: "Lemington has some of the worst health figures in the city and should be a top priority."
