HEATON PARKS LOTTERY UPDATE

Work is commencing on the long awaited plans to enhance and renovate the Ouseburn Parks including Jemond Dene, Heaton and Armstrong Parks.

The city has secured a £4.5 million lottery grant to support work to restore these great Victorian parks.

Work in the Heaton / Armstrong Park areas will include improvements to the pavilion to create better catering facilities.

There will be new signage and public toilets, repairs to the windmill and improvements to drainage.

There will also be repairs to the kick-about area, and the popular pets corner will be completely redesigned.

Councillor Greg Stone says: "Your local Lib Dem team have participated in the consultation and planning from day one and are please to see the initial works are now getting underway."
