INCREASE IN THE MINIMUM WAGE IS EXCELLENT NEWS

The increase in the National Minimum Wage recently announced is great news & very welcome. Many people from in Newcastle have already benefited from tax cuts thanks to Liberal Democrats in Government . Now those on low wages will get more money .

From October this year, the National Minimum Wage is set to rise by 3%, which means the new hourly rate for workers will be £6.70. This is the largest real-terms increase in the National Minimum Wage since 2008, and over 1.4 million UK workers are set to benefit.

It was also announced that the National Minimum Wage for apprentices will increase by 57p an hour to £3.30.

This is good news for young people in Newcastle who are starting off their dream careers through an apprenticeship programme, this increase will enable them to earn more whilst learning
