LIB DEMS TACKLE PARKING PROBLEMS

14 Oct 2008

Fenham's Liberal Democrat councillors are taking action to alleviate parking problems on Crummock Road.

Residents have contacted PJ Morrissey and Colin Daglish and raised concerns about motorists parking to use the football pitches.

The parking is particularly bad on Sunday mornings when parents are taking their children to play football.

Councillor PJ Morrissey says: "I have had residents contacting me who have been unable to get off their driveway because of inconsiderate parking by parents taking their children to football.

"We are looking at ways of solving this. One way could be to move some of the football teams to Slatyford Play & Youth Club where the football pitches there are underused.

"We are talking to everyone involved to see whether this is possible.

"Colin and I are working hard to resolve the parking problems in Crummock Road to everyone's satisfaction."
