:: Denton praised by Home Office

Home Office staff recently came to Denton to look at the work being done to improve community safety.

They were so impressed with the work from residents, councillors, police and other agencies they awarded Denton exemplar status.

:: Westerhope Park plans move forward

Councillors have been working with the council on a scheme to make better use of the area around the park after discussions with Friends of Westerhope Park.

The council is hoping to have some initial proposals ready soon with details of the costs involved.

:: All Saints pupils get safe area to play

The playing field at All Saints' College has now been fenced off giving pupils a safe and secure area to play.

The footpath from Roachburn Road remains and it is hoped to landscape the space around it to discourage motorcyclists.

Peter Arnold says: "The problem of the field was solved after councillors, police and the school sat down and discussed it."
