NEW FUTURE FOR FAWDON LIBRARY?

27 Jul 2008

Local residents are to be consulted on proposals to move Fawdon Library into Fawdon Community Centre.

When the Government turned down a request for funding to build a new library on the side of the centre, councillors started

thinking of other possibilities.

Councillor David Faulkner says: "We proposed to the management committee of the Community Association that the library moved into the centre, and they were very keen.

"The proposal will help support the activities and future of the community centre but will also allow us to increase the library opening hours substantially."
