NEW PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

17 Feb 2010

A new pedestrian crossing is to be installed opposite Newcastle Falcons.

The toucan crossing and footpath will cross Brunton Road, near to Cranleigh Avenue.

The scheme will allow parents dropping their children off at Kingston Park Primary School by car to use the rugby club car park.

There is the possibility of the school creating a children's 'park and stride' scheme, making use of the car park.

Focus Editor James Kenyon said: "I am pleased these plans have been drawn up by the council.

"It should help reduce traffic congestion on Cranleigh Avenue and nearby streets while also improving road safety."
