:: NEWBURN CHARTER PLAN

The first-ever Neighbourhood Charter for Newburn Ward is being drawn up.

The aim of charter is to deliver the services residents want locally.

This includes a bigger say over health, housing, employment, education and policing.

:: EILEEN JOINS THE LIB DEM FOCUS TEAM

Local campaigner Eileen Ball has joined the Newburn Ward team as Focus Editor.

Eileen, who lives in Throckley, is marred with two young children and was chairman of Newburn Community centre for two years.

:: COMMITTEE GIVES £5,000 TO WAR MEMORIAL

The Newburn Ward Committee has given a £5,000 grant to help with the continuing work to renovate the Newburn War Memorial.

The money will help restore the Memorial ahead of the centenary of the start of World World One in 2014.
