:: SCHOOL SAFETY
Traffic management arrangements for Gosforth Junior High School in Regent Avenue are to be altered. Measures include new signs, road markings and waiting restrictions.
:: TREE SURVEY
A tree survey is taking place in Salters Road, near to Kenton Road, to review the provision of tree protection orders in light of concern about loss of trees over a number of years.
:: RESIDENTS' PARKING
A residents' parking scheme is now fully implemented in Beechfield Road, Furzefield
Road and parts of Elmfield Road.
Residents have seen a reduction in parking problems.
:: PAVEMENT REPAIRS
Further pavement repair schemes are being designed as part of the ward's investment programme.
Streets at the top of the list include North Avenue, Westfield and Woodlands.
:: LOWER SPEED FOR MAJOR ROAD
Consultation has taken place concerning reducing the traffic speed limit in Grandstand Road from 50mph to 40mph to improve safety.
The results are being evaluated.
:: ROAD RESURFACING TO TAKE PLACE
Funding has been secured for road resurfacing to take place as part of the West Gosforth highways investment programme.
Three streets: Delaval Terrace, Elgy Road and Oaklands will be resurfaced this autumn.
Other streets earmarked as part of the programme for the future include Graham Park Road, Hedley Terrace, Northfield Road, Meadowfield Road, and Woodlands.
:: BRACKENFIELD ROAD / ELGY GREEN:
Increased parking is being monitored.
:: ELMFIELD ROAD
No waiting restrictions to the south side, from the junction with Linden Road in westerly direction, have been installed.
:: GORDON AVENUE
Limited waiting restrictions have been installed. Irton Street: A loading bay has been replace with limited waiting restrictions.
:: MONTAGU AVENUE
Community notice boards are being erected at the junction with Kenton Road and outside Wyndham Primary School.
:: MOOR CRESCENT / HIGH STREET
Road markings have been refreshed.
:: PRINCES MEADOW
20mph road markings are to be installed.
