POLICE TAKE ACTION TO TACKLE NUISANCE BIKERS

20 Oct 2009

Police are taking action against motorbikes after complaints from residents and councillors.

Reports included bikes being ridden dangerously on roads and fields and causing noise and disruption.

Over recent weeks, police seized a black moto-cross bike in Crosslaw, East Denton and arrested two teenagers.

Councillor Sharon Middleton said: "Motorbikes and mini-motos are a real nuisance in Denton and can frequently be dangerous to pedestrians by the way they are ridden.

"We are pleased the police are taking action to crack down on this.

"If any resident sees a bike being ridden dangerously I urge them to contact police."
