Newcastle North spokesman Ron Beadle joins Lemington councillors and local residents to campaign for a GPs surgery in the ward

The Liberal Democrats have launched a campaign to bring a doctor's surgery back to Lemington.

Councillors Lawrence Hunter and Joanne Park are working closely with Newcastle North Parliamentary spokesman Ron Beadle to improve health services locally.

Lemington does not have a GP's surgery and the nearest are at Newburn, Chapel House and Denton Burn.

The Lib Dems have launched petition for a local surgery. Please sign the petition below or online at www.ourcampaign.org.uk/LemingtonGPs

Ron Beadle says: "For years Lemington has not had a doctor's surgery.

"This means residents have to travel to Newburn or Chapel House to see a doctor and this is simply not good enough.

"We have launched this petition to allow people to tell the Newcastle Primary Care Trust to provide the same service to people in Lemington as they do in other parts of the city."
