RON'S CAMPAIGN OFF TO A FLYING START IN 2010

6 Jan 2010

For local Liberal Democrat campaigner Ron Beadle the new year is off to a flying start in the race to be our new MP.

He just needs a few more votes to win the seat.

It is time for Gordon Brown to call a General Election and end the uncertainty.

Having fixed term Parliaments of four or five years would end the speculation.

Many local people feel let down by Labour's record in Newcastle.

They took us into a war in Iraq, closed local post offices and have failed to improve public transport - overseeing

cuts in bus services and gridlock on roads.

Gordon Brown's recession has hit Newcastle and the North East hard, with young people, families and older people

struggling to make ends meet.

The 10p tax fiasco was a bitter blow to working people.

It is hardly surprising more and more people are switching to back Ron Beadle.

Ron has a strong record of fighting for local residents in Newcastle.

Ron Beadle worked with Lemington residents to get a doctor's surgery opened in the ward, he also fought to protect local

post offices from closure.

He has also made headlines for his campaign to ensure Newcastle residents are treated in local hospitals in an

emergency - rather than go to a hospital in Cramlington. Labour is silent on many of these issues.

Ladbrokes has made the Conservatives 100/1 rank outsiders to win in Newcastle at the General Election.

"Conservative voters are telling me they are supporting the Liberal Democrats this time to ensure Gordon Brown's Labour is

beaten in Newcastle," said Ron Beadle.

"Residents like the fact we work all year round for local people."

Ron wants to put the people of Newcastle first and be a strong voice for our communities in Parliament.
