ROUNDABOUT TO BE MADE SAFER

12 Dec 2008

Work will be carried out to make Cobbler's Corner roundabout much safer and easier for pedestrians to cross.

Councillor Marc Donnelly explains: "We have been concerned that this area is potentially dangerous and we have worked closely with the council's highways department to come up with a solution.

"There has been much discussion about putting traffic lights at this location but this option is actually not necessarily the best option according to some residents we have spoken to - particularly those who live off Stamfordham Road."

The work will see the installation of clearly marked crossing points for pedestrians.
