18 Oct 2008

There are plans to increase recycling by a third over the next two years.

Last year the city council recycled 32% of household rubbish and now this has been set to 43%.

Councillor David Down says: "A pilot is being run in Brunton Park and Melbury to measure the increase in recycling levels now the recycling bins are in use.

"I am pleased that local schools are being involved."
