'U DECIDE' SCHEME FOR LOCAL PARK

26 Jul 2008

THE Liberal Democrat city council is to carry out a "U Decide" competition to allow school children at Chillingham Road and Ravenswood primaries to choose what kind of new play equipment they would like at Iris Brickfield Park.

They will get to choose how to spend a £45,000 contribution to local play facilities paid for by the developers of the Chillingham Garden Village flats in Heaton.

Councillor Karen Robinson said: "We are keen to extend the U Decide approach to other areas of local spending on environmental projects and children and young people's activities."
