WORK STARTS ON STORE STREET INSULATION SCHEME

22 Nov 2008

A scheme to insulate a row of terraced homes in Lemington Village has begun.

The Thermal Comfort Scheme is insulating 13 properties on Store Street.

These homes have a low energy efficiency rating and are not suitable for cavity wall insulation.

Instead solid wall insulation is being attached externally to the houses.

Then the properties are covered with a red-brick render, to look as much like the original as possible.

Councillor Lawrence Hunter says: "When this work is finished residents should notice that their fuel bills are lower and their homes warmer."
