BEADLE MEETS WITH AIRPORT BOSSES

7 Jan 2010

Newcastle campaigner Ron Beadle has met with airport bosses to raise concerns over aircraft noise during the consultation over the new noise strategy.

The airport has chosen flight paths that affect the smallest number of people and monitors individual flights to make sure that pilots stick to routes and ascend and descend in ways that reduce impact on residents.

Ron Beadle said: "The airport is willing to listen to residents and are taking action to reduce the effects of noise.

"All this is good. But residents directly under the flight paths are still affected by noise and I am continuing to press the airport to consider adding other flight paths if the airport expands so the same people don't have to suffer the worst effects."
