Blakelaw roads and pavements improved

Most of the work on roads and pavements in Blaklaw ward programmed for this year is underway or complete and Philip Lower and Gerry Keating, your Blakelaw ward Lib Dem councillors, are looking at next year's schemes in order of priority.
Speed limits are to be implemented along all sections of Ponteland Road within the ward. They are also trying to change to lane alignments at the roundabout where Etal Lane meets Ponteland Road.
There have been parking problems in the streets around English Martyrs' School and there will now be mandatory enforcement of all "School Keep Clear" markings between 8am and 5pm. Your ward councillors are trying to reduce speed at the Wingrove road/Ridgeway corner by making it a sharper turn.
