Cooperative idea popular

Residents attending a recent meeting, organised by the West Gosforth Ward Committee following representations, have shown interest in developing a cooperative business or another similar type of social enterprise in Gosforth.

One possibility is to try to develop a business which could be located in Ashburton Road, where residents would like to see an anchor store, but some residents are also interested in similar projects in other parts of Gosforth. Residents are working together to develop their ideas into more detailed proposals. Councillors have offered further advice and support should it be required.
