While swimming in some parts of the city is in serious decline the poll continues to go from strength to strength. This is a tremendous achievement by Fenham Swimming Project, a community group that took the pool over after it had been closed in 2003 by the then Labour-controlled council.
You local Blakelaw councillors have assisted with funding from the ward budget in the past, and are looking to help improve the system for heating the water, which would cut costs significantly
