:: Great Park adoption 'moving forward'

Residents are rightly raising concerns about maintenance and adoption in the Great Park.

New legal agreements are now being finalised and these will deal with highways, highways maintenance and public transport matters.

Surface dressings on Melbury should be complete shortly.

The adoption of Warkworth Woods is imminent now Northumbrian Water has agreed to the adoption of the sewers and surface drainage system.

:: Library bus proving popular

Meanwhile the new library bus service on Melbury is proving popular.

It comes to Central Plaza, Featherstone Grove every other Saturday 3pm to 4.30pm.

:: Planning application withdrawn

A planning application to change the use of a shop and maisonette in Featherstone Grove to a day nursery for 55 children aged six months to five years has been withdrawn.

A revised application is expected.
