IMPROVEMENTS MADE TO LOCAL COMMUNITY CENTRE

28 Feb 2010

Work is being carried out to improve Newburn Community Centre.

Central heating, a new disabled access and toilet with baby changing facilities are being installed alongside further alterations to the building.

Focus Editor Eileen Ball said: "The community centre was a failing project a few years back but with a new committee, the place found a new lease of life.

"Now with the Children's Centre coming onboard, the centre is growing and growing.

"More activities are planned this year and local residents are encouraged to get involved."
